The Burlington American Legion Post, #273, dedicated a new American Flag Drop Box on Sunday morning, April 14, 2002. The Drop Box is there for everyone who has a U.S. Flag that needs to be disposed of.

“It is great to see all the flag waiving patriotism these days,” said Bob Hogan, Burlington’s Director of Veterans Services, “but there comes a time when Old Glory must be properly retired.”

The new Flag Drop Box is the best way for Burlington residents to properly dispose of the Flag. The Drop Box is located in the driveway of the American Legion Post on Winn Street.

Please do not throw an American Flag in the Trash.
