On Thursday, April 25, 2002, the Burlington Detachment of the Marine Corps League held a  2001 Toys for Tots Award Ceremony to thank local businesses for their tremendous assistance and support through donations of toys and fund raising this past Christmas.  Because of the donations, the Marine Corps League distributed many toys to needy Burlington families, who were extremely grateful.  Active Marines and Marines reservists, as well as Marine veterans receive assistance in distributing the items from many areas, including the Burlington Fire Department.

The award ceremony was held and filmed at the BCAT studio.  Representatives from various companies were present to accept awards for their participation in Burlington's 2001 Toys for Tots campaign.  Burlington's Veterans' Director, Bob Hogan, began the ceremony by introducing the history of Toys for Tots after which he turned the program over to Burlington's MCL Detachment Commandant, Carl Patterson.

Present to give out the awards were USMC Toys for Tots Coordinator, Staff Sgt. Christopher Gibbel from Devens, MA, and members of the Burlington MCL Detachment:  Commandant Carl Patterson, Larry Rice, Charlie Marshall, and Tony Buscemi.

Please see your local newspapers or visit the BCAT website at www.BCATtv.org for program air dates.
