Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2002
Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington, MA
Memorial Day is a very important day for veterans and their families. It is a time for us to remember those men and women who died while serving their country. Here in Burlington, each Memorial Day, we also remember those veterans who passed away since our last Memorial Day services
The Burlington Office of Veterans' Services wishes to thank those from the community that came out and joined us at both the flag raising and the ceremony at the Chestnut Hill cemetery. It is nice to see that so many people still remember the importance of those that made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom, and those we have recently lost.
Also, it is with great pleasure that we notice an increase of activity of younger people participating in our events as well as the younger people joining their families to watch the parade and ceremony.
The Burlington Allied Veterans wish to thank the following for their contribution to making this Memorial Day 2002 so special.
