The traditional flag raising on the
Town Common took place at 9:00 am and was followed by a continental breakfast
at the American Legion Hall compliments of the Marriott Hotel. The
weather was sunny and perfect as the ceremony at Pine Haven Cemetery
commenced at 10:00 am.

Rescue at Sea June 20, 2003
~ Burlington resident
and veteran, Joe Arena, was miraculously rescued on June 20, 1945, his
23rd birthday, by the submarine USS Seafox, after spending an
incredible 21 hours in the ocean. Click
