Frank J. Saracina, a resident of
Burlington for 31 years, passed away at the Massachusetts
General Hospital on Sunday morning, September 4, 2005. He was 71
years old.
Mr. Saracina was born, raised and
educated in Woonsocket, RI. He was the youngest of 13 children
born to the late Francesco and Ida Saracina. Mr. Saracina was a
veteran of Korea and Vietnam serving in the United States Air
Force from 1953 – 1957. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant
and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medical
and the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Saracina attended college in
Florida after leaving the service. He enjoyed playing Ice Hockey
while in High School and College.
Mr. Saracina was employed at Raytheon
for 37 years as an Electrical Engineer. He worked primarily at
Raytheon in Bedford. He retired at the age of 62.
Mr. Saracina and his wife Willie
enjoyed taking trips together to Las Vegas and Foxwoods. He also
enjoyed bowling and for many years was a member of the Raytheon
Bowling League. Mr. Saracina and his wife also bowled together
for many years in the local Burlington League on Wednesday
evenings.
Mr. Saracina was a very talented
craftsman. He used his skill to do remodeling of his own home in
Burlington. He also enjoyed working in his yard.
Mr. Saracina is the beloved husband of
Wilhelmina “Willie” (Baia). He is the loving brother of Mary
Saracina of Cumberland, RI, Gay Saracina, Teresa Chartier, Ida
O’Connor all of Pawtucket, RI, and Michael Saracina of
Woonsocket, RI. He is predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters. He
is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from from
the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON
(Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, September 7 at
9:00 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St.
Margaret's Church, Burlington at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours
Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven
