Stuart Davis Rose, 79

     Stuart Davis Rose, a recipient of the Purple Heart, passed away at his home after a long illness on Wednesday morning, August 31, 2005.  He was 79 years old.  Mr. Rose was born in Worcester, the son of the late Spencer and Pearl Rose.  He grew up and was educated in Worcester.  He then received an Associates Degree from Boston University.  He served in the Arm during WW II as a Private First Class.  During the war, he fought in the Rhineland and Ardennes.  He received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, The Good Conduct Medal, WW II Victory Medal, and the Purple Heart.

     Mr. Rose was a long time employee of RCA.  He worked as a Cost & Pricing Analyst working on proposals and negotiations with the federal government.  Some of the projects and components he worked on included the AEGIS, the Lunar Module, Satellites, and AWACS.  He had been a resident of Burlington for the past 46 years.  When he had good health, he enjoyed golf and fishing. 

     Mr. Rose is the beloved husband of 56 years of Jean W. (Buddy).  Loving father of Cathy & her husband Gary Forst of Gunnison, CO, Michael Rose & his wife Stephanie of Derry, NH, Carol Rose & her companion James Lappin of Hudson, NH and the late Steven.  He is predeceased by 2 siblings, the late Virginia Knight and Donald E. Rose.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
