Ernest F. Jones passed away unexpectedly at the Winchester Hospital on Sunday evening, January 29, 2006.  He was 72 years old.  

Mr. Jones was born in Port-Aux-Basques, Newfoundland.  He was the son of the late Ernest & Bessie Jones.  Mr. Jones immigrated to the United States from Newfoundland in 1939.  He settled in Burlington in 1940.  Mr. Jones served active duty in the United States Army from 1956 – 1958.  He continued to serve in the Army Reserves until 1962.  Mr. Jones was a retired Carpenter.  He began working with his grandfather’s company, E. Jones and Sons.  He eventually went out on his own and did general carpentry as well as building a number of homes.  He was a member of the Masons for 50 years. 

     Mr. Jones is the beloved husband of 49 years to Charlotte (Beck) Jones.  He is the loving father of Clifton Jones of Burlington, Sharon Jones, Karen Jones both of Tucson, AZ and Mark Jones of Burlington.  He is the brother of Raymond Jones of Stoneham, Ethel Drew, Marcie Huntoon both of Henderson, NV, George Jones of Oxford, and Doris Houk of Los Cruces, NM.  Funeral services will be private.  Arrangements under the direction of the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, BURLINGTON.
