Joseph E. Gormley, a life
long resident of Burlington, passed away at the Lahey Clinic
Medical Center on Tuesday evening, November 29, 2005. He was 75
years old.
Mr. Gormley was raised and educated in
Burlington. He and his late wife Mary made their home in
Burlington where they raised their two children. Mr. Gormley was
employed by the State of Massachusetts in the Maintenance
Department for over 20 years. After leaving the State he went to
work for Avco in Wilmington where he worked for 5 years.
Mr. Gormley was a Boston Sports Fan. He
followed all the local teams; the Patriots, Bruins, Celtics, and
Red Sox. Mr. Gormley was a people person. He enjoyed his walks
to “Sammy’s” where he would socialize with his
neighbor’s of the Winnmere area. He also enjoyed spending time
at the Senior Center in Burlington.
Mr. Gormley is the husband of the late
Mary A. (Donigian). He is the loving father of Michael J. &
his wife Debra and Kathleen Gormley both of Burlington. He is
the grandfather of Brittney L. Gormley. Funeral from the Edward
V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off
Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, December 3 at 9 a.m. Followed
by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church at 10
a.m. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven
Cemetery, Burlington
