Edward J. Fradsham, of Burlington, passed away at the Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Center on Monday Evening, November 28.  He was 88 years of age.  Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Albert, and the late Myra (Dawe) Fradsham; and the husband of Barbara (Cartier) Fradsham.  Edward and his wife had been married for 64 years.

 

Mr. Fradsham grew up in Southboro, and later lived in Medford before coming to Burlington 31 years ago.  He was a graduate of Northeastern University, and a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II.  During the War, he served in Japan and the Philippines.  After receiving his Honorable Discharge from the Army, he was recalled for service with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

 

Edward worked as an Electrical Engineer for General Electric for many years.  He later left G.E. to open his own company,  Burlington Components Corporation.  Edward and his wife loved spending time at their cottage in East Wakefield, New Hampshire.  He enjoyed fishing and is also remembered as a great storyteller.

 

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by one son, James Fradsham of Auburn; one daughter, Patricia Govostes and her husband Norman of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Fr. Sean Govostes of Great Neck, NY, Liam Govostes of Braintree, Tamsyn Govostes of Burlington, Brian Fradsham of West Boylston, Tad Fradsham of Oxford, James Fradsham Jr. of Hampton, NH, and Lisa Driscoll of Somersworth, NH.  He is also survived by one sister, Myra VanderWal of Florida and many great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Friday, December 2 at 11:00 am.  Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9.  Burial will be private.
